Saltwater Taffy Autoflower - Auto/Fem/3pk Swamp Classic Gator Bone x the Notorious Bubblegum Breath. Saltwater Taffy XXL is a lovely blend of another trans-continental PPP original, Gator Bone, and Bubblegum Breath. These Ladies build huge framework with a low leaf to flower ratio and long, chunky colas. Burnt rubber and sharp concord grape with creamy berry tones, a hint of sweet citrus and lavender highlights by day 70-75.
*The art & the influence: As an artisan breeder, my botanical focus has always been on crafting nostalgia and euphoria via unique cultivars influenced by all forms of art, counterculture, Americana, global pop culture and various other influences and personal experiences. This approach is reflected in the in the cultivar, the name and the accompanying artwork.
- Gator Bone is a powerhouse auto cross of two original PPP creations that we love dearly! Gator Breath (Mendo Breath x Florida OG) x Bonehawk (Southwest MI Cookie Twister collaboration) x Auto#2. Considering the East Coast / West Coast lineage and unique profile, it was an immediate choice for the Bubblegum Breath project and it does not disappoint! Staying consistent with the Florida roots nostalgia, I was beyond exited to breath in such a unique and fitting profile because this isn't my first attempt at a unique cultivar deserving of the name.
This is a tribute to vintage Florida, the era of the great American family vacation! The boardwalk candy shops, tourist stands on old state roads, Indian River fruit, Coppertone billboards, boutique motels, citrus groves, fishing piers, beachside arcades, surf shops and sandy beach towels.
There's one shop on the boardwalk in Daytona named Zeno's that's been making the world's best saltwater taffy on the world's most famous beach since the late 1940's. I was probably 5 years old the first time I waddled into that shop and fell in love. I've watched every business and the entire landscape change dozens of times, but to this day that taffy pulling machine is still in the front window in a timeless loop.
Last time I visited I was 47 years old, that taffy tasted just like 1980 with bits of sunshine and freedom! 2020 and 2021 were probably the roughest years of my life. I was sick, and I lost a lot of people and possessions. My standard response to stress is to drive southeast till I hit water and gather my composure in isolation, and that's what I did in late 2021.
I moved a few essentials into a storage unit in Port Orange, FL, flew back to MI, loaded up the harley and hit the road! It was an unforgettable journey. Eastbound straight to Outter Banks, NC then meandered south along the coast to Daytona. I knew where I was going and I knew the odds were against me, this town chews people up, and at this point life was chewing me up and spitting me out right back where I started. But at the same time I knew there was healing there so I set up in a few hotels, rented a couple rooms, managed to do a few inbreeding sessions with the Bubblegum Breath crosses and indulge in the surrounding paradise.
Those days and nights were amazing! Coffee, herbs and sunrise on the seawall every morning! Shark fishing on the piers, building ridiculous bikes, cruising the beachside, cannabis festivals, concerts, canoeing the swamps, napping in the tidepools, it was amazing and much needed spiritual healing, but it was time to pack it up and head to OH for some medical attention.
At that point this Saltwater Taffy was reg F3 (after f1 bx) and I already knew it was the star of this show, but I had to go and the future was uncertain. Over a 3 year period I was only able to grow for 1 season in greenhouses but it was a few steps forward for this drop, and as soon as I relocated in 2025 I ran the final 2 of 5 fem runs and wrapped it up for the spring drop.
Saltwater Taffy Autoflower is a superstar in our eyes and we hope you enjoy it too!
